The day in Christchurch will feature the "Kai Bites: Christchurch central exploration and tastings" tour, a 2.5-hour inner-city walking experience that blends cultural discovery with local food sampling. The tour begins with a traditional Māori welcome (mihi whakatau and karakia), emphasizing the principles of hospitality (manaakitanga) and connection (whanaugatanga) through shared food (kai). A guide will share Māori and settler stories as the group walks along the city laneways and river, enjoying personally selected iconic kiwi flavors and finishing with a lunch prepared from seasonal local produce. The group's accommodation for the next two nights will be a Standard Room City View at the Crowne Plaza Christchurch, which includes full breakfast for each person on both mornings.

Day 7: January 14, 2027
Christchurch

Following breakfast at the hotel, the day is dedicated to a sightseeing trip to Akaroa, involving a three-hour round-trip drive from Christchurch. The journey traverses semi-rural landscapes, skirts the base of the Port Hills, passes the ecologically and culturally important Lake Ellesmere, and continues inland through Little River village, culminating in a stop at the 'Hilltop' lookout for stunning views of Akaroa Harbour and the volcanic terrain before descending into Akaroa village. The highlight of the day is a 2-hour Akaroa Dolphins Cruise, conducted on a stable, hydrofoil-equipped vessel, designed to offer a personalized experience with close encounters with marine wildlife. The cruise navigates past sea caves, volcanic formations, and high cliffs, seeking out the rare and smallest Hector's dolphin, alongside fur seals, little blue penguins, and various seabirds. After the cruise, the group will return to Christchurch, where dinner is scheduled at leisure.
Day 8: January 15, 2027
Christchurch – Mt. Cook
The day begins with breakfast and check-out from the Christchurch hotel, commencing the three-hour drive across the Canterbury Plains towards Aoraki/Mount Cook Village. The journey involves crossing the massive Rakaia, New Zealand’s longest bridge over a 'braided river,' and passing through the sheep and wheat farming center of Ashburton before turning inland at Geraldine towards the Mackenzie Basin. The scenic drive continues to Lake Tekapo, where the group will enjoy a hosted lunch and traditional Pavlova on the shores of the beautiful turquoise lake, near the iconic Church of the Good Shepherd. Following lunch, the route continues past Lake Pukaki, following the Tasman River into Mount Cook Village, which is situated within Aoraki Mount Cook National Park, a vast 70,013-hectare expanse featuring New Zealand's highest mountain and the majority of its largest peaks and glaciers. After dinner in the hotel's Alpine Dining room, the evening concludes with the Big Sky Stargazing experience; on a clear night.

The route then follows the Kawarau River into the mountainous terrain leading to Queenstown, where a stop is made at the Gibbston Valley for wine tasting and lunch before final check-in at the Copthorne Hotel & Resort Lakefront. The resort, which includes a 3-night stay in a lakeview room and three breakfasts, is situated on the shores of Lake Wakatipu in a town known for its alpine setting and vibrant atmosphere.
Day 10: January 17, 2027
Queenstown – Milford Sound – Queenstown
This full-day excursion from Queenstown to Milford Sound begins with an early morning four-hour scenic coach journey through the stunning landscapes of Fiordland National Park. Highlights along the way include the Avenue of the Disappearing Mountain, the Mirror Lakes, and the rough-hewn Homer Tunnel, which leads into the 22-kilometer-long fiord dominated by Mitre Peak. Upon arrival, participants board a boutique, 1.75-hour small boat cruise, limited to 75 passengers for a more personal experience. The uncrowded cruise, guided by locals, stops at points of interest such as the Hanging Gardens, Fairy and Stirling Falls, and local seal colonies, providing opportunities to see New Zealand fur seals, dolphins, and the rare Fiordland crested penguin. Complimentary coffee, tea, and biscuits are included during the cruise, followed by a return trip to Queenstown by a scenic flight (weather permitting), offering breathtaking aerial views of the isolated national park and saving significant travel time.
